What to Glean From Kraken's Season Exit Interviews
On Saturday, the Seattle Kraken emptied their locker rooms and made themselves available to the media. On Monday, it was general manager Ron Francis' turn to share his thoughts publicly. While some of the answers provided by him could seen from a mile away, others were sufficiently interesting to raise an eyebrow, especially something Francis said in response to a reporter's query. What can we glean from these exit interviews?

Kraken GM Ron Francis can't afford misstep on Dave Hakstol decision
There have been various opinions floating around about the Kraken's handling of Dave Hakstol and his coaching staff ever since the season ended. Well, I'd say is this is actually pretty common for the NHL, though not something we in Seattle are necessarily used to with the NFL and MLB. The NFL places far more importance on individual games, so it doesn't take all that long to figure out how things are working with a particular coach. It's gotten tougher in MLB because three wild card spots in each league allow more teams to stay in playoff races than was the case with one wild card just more than a decade ago.

Rangers' Carson Rehkopf inks deal with Seattle Kraken
Carson Rehkopf had a monster weekend. The Kitchener Rangers sniper inked a three-year entry level contract with the NHL's Seattle Kraken and latched on with the club's American Hockey League affiliate, the Coachella Valley Firebirds, for the remainder of the season this past Sunday. “We saw tremendous progress from Carson as he set multiple career highs in the OHL this season,” said Seattle Kraken general manager Ron Francis, in a news release.

Kraken goalie Joey Daccord looks to better days after breakout season
Of course he's not happy about where and when the season ended, Kraken goaltender Joey Daccord kept slipping into his exit interview. But the sunniest outlook still belonged to the 27-year-old, who had toiled for years in the minors for the chance he got — and made the most of. He backstopped the Kraken's best run of the season, the only reason they were still in playoff contention. He was the MVP and media darling of a widely praised Winter Classic. He honed his active, roving approach to the position and practiced the goalie goal he wants and trusts he'll get, one day, when the moment is right. A minor injury kept him from more starts down the stretch but all in all, this was pretty darn encouraging.

Kraken Fun Facts After Season-Finale Win Over Wild - The Hockey Writers Seattle Kraken Latest News, Analysis & More
The Seattle Kraken concluded the regular season with a fittingly topsy-turvy 4-3 victory over the Minnesota Wild on Thursday night. As was discussed in the Kraken Team Awards earlier this week, the campaign featured a series of highs and lows, and a lot of that was encapsulated in Thursday's win. Regular season finales often bring out the fighting spirit in clubs that generally have not impressed – the Anaheim Ducks defeated the Vegas Golden Knights on Thursday as well. Seattle sleepwalked through the first two matches that began this four-game road swing.

Zuccarello tied it 2-2 at 11:13, taking a stretch pass from Matt Boldy and scoring with a wrist shot from the slot on a breakaway. “I think we're all professionals, so we go into a game and you want to win,” Zuccarello said. Devin Cooley cool under pressure with 49 saves as Sharks top Kraken 3-1
Devin Cooley is trying not to get wrapped up in the success of his past two starts. Cooley made 49 saves in just his fourth career start, Kyle Burroughs and Fabian Zetterlund scored less than a minute apart in the second period, and the San Jose Sharks beat the Seattle Kraken 3-1 on Thursday night. The Sharks spoiled Seattle’s final home game of the season, taking advantage of two defensive breakdowns by the Kraken just 51 seconds apart and a terrific performance by Cooley.
