I look at the time I’ve spent with him when he’s been a head coach – the wins outweigh the losses by a large margin,” Armstrong said. So I’m excited to have him around. He has a passion for the game.

Lightning Round: One year ago Tampa Bay won a Stanley Cup game
It was also the game where the Lightning showed they weren’t going to be pushed around by the Stars. They took the hits and dished out plenty in return. Despite seeing their three-goal lead get trimmed to one, they maintained their composure in the third period and held off the Stars.

Stars' Burning Questions: Which Version of Jamie Benn Will We See in 2021-22?
Jamie Benn has been the face of the Dallas Stars for many years. Before he was named the sixth captain in franchise history in 2013, he was a young power forward with loads of potential and skill. Since then, he has gone through the best and worst statistical seasons of his career.

Dallas Stars Daily Links: Tufte Training
Riley Tufte has been a divisive prospect among Dallas Stars fans for quite some time. There’s no question that it’s disappointing the 2016 1st round draft pick hasn’t cracked the NHL lineup yet, but does that mean it’s never going to happen? Tufte is well aware of the criticism he receives on social media, but he’s not letting that deter him as he continue to works toward his dream: “Getting drafted as a bigger guy, it takes a little bit longer, especially for me,” Tufte said.

Stars Finish Traverse City Tournament Against Blues
The Dallas Stars prospects have not found the win column in the Traverse City tournament this year. They had a late rally that fell just short against the Detroit Red Wings on Thursday. On Friday, they dropped a 5-3 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets and followed that up by getting smoked by the Toronto Maple Leafs, 7-3, on Sunday.

Traverse City: Toronto Takes Care of Stars, 7-3
Jacob Peterson tapped in a nice feed from Riley Damiani on the second to continue his noticeable debut. Toronto’s second goal came from Curtis Douglas, who at 6’ 9” found himself alone in the slot half way through the period. Harley and Dawson Barteaux continued their disturbing trend of eating minuses and Adam Scheel hasn’t been able to bail the team out of their defensive lapses.

We’ll start with the two teams that were in Chicago’s division last season and the Dallas Stars are up first.

Traverse City: Columbus Downs Stars in Chippy Contest
Outside of those bookends, it was a back and forth period where the top three lines for the Stars all looked dangerous. Riley Tufte continued his strong play, tying up his defender at the far post while Johnston’s shot caromed in on the first tally. On the second goal, Tufte made a slick feed from below the goal line to Johnston in the slot.

Stanley Cup Windows 2021-22: Central Division
This team belongs to defenseman Miro Heiskanen, center Roope Hintz and left winger Jason Robertson now, and Jake Oettinger looks like a sturdy bet as Dallas’ goalie of the future. On the other hand, signing Ryan Suter, 36, sent a message that the Stars want to take a big swing before previous core-regime members Jamie Benn, Tyler Seguin and Alexander Radulov, not to mention ageless wonder Joe Pavelski, age out. Key puck-moving defenseman John Klingberg is also on the final season of his deal.

Dallas Stars Daily Links: Ty Dellandrea Will Fight To Be On Dallas' Opening-Night Roster
The Dallas Stars’ regular season is 29 long days away – but last weekend’s Prospect Development Camp provided a tantalizing, if all too brief preview. And 2018 first-rounder Ty Dellandrea is among the players Stars fans are watching most closely, for better and otherwise. The 21-year-old center had an up-and-down season in 2021, from making the roster in Dallas to becoming a regular healthy scratch, and finally ending up in Cedar Park for the final buzzer.

Roulette, a member of Misipawistik Cree Nation in Manitoba, was selected by the Dallas Stars in the fourth round, 111th over-all in the National Hockey League’s Entry Draft this past July. Stars' Burning Questions: Can They Win The Close Games?
One of the top reasons the Dallas Stars missed the playoffs last season was their performance in tight games. They finished the season with a record of 23-19-14 and missed the playoffs by just three points. Heading into the first full season in two years, this team knows they will need to perform better in close games or they will be watching the playoffs once again.
