Sabres suspend Patrik Berglund indefinitely for failing to report to team
The Buffalo Sabres announced on Saturday morning that the organization has suspended forward Patrik Berglund indefinitely for failure to report to the team. The Sabres said they will have no further comment on the suspension at this time. This announcement comes after the 30-year-old forward missed the previous two games due what coach Phil Housley had called an illness. The Sabres are set to play the defending Stanley Cup champion Washington Capitals on Saturday evening and are looking to win their third game in a row.

Skinner, Eichel score twice as Sabres top Bruins 4-2
Jack Eichel fondly remembers sitting with his dad in the TD Garden stands, watching his favorite hockey players. Eichel had two goals and two assists, including the primary helper on Jeff Skinner's winning goal with 3:13 remaining, to lead the Buffalo Sabres past the Boston Bruins 4-2. ''I just picture myself in the crowd watching guys that I loved watching when I was a kid,'' Eichel said.

Highlights from Bruins' 4-2 loss to Sabres
Highlights from Bruins' 4-2 loss to Sabres originally appeared on nbcsportsboston.com FINAL SCORE: Sabres 4, Bruins 2 FROM HAGGERTY It was fun watching Charlie McAvoy and Jack Eichel go head-to-head a little bit in the first period as fellow Boston University alumnae. Eichel used a toe drag move to go right around McAvoy on a drive to the net that ended with a wraparound reverse chance that Tuukka Rask was able to stop. It was not as much fun for Bruins fans watching the Chelmsford native wheel around former BU teammate Matt Grzelcyk for the go-ahead goal in the third period.

In this week’s PHT Power Rankings we take a look at the players, lines, and positions that have put together the most dominant performances through the first two-and-a-half months of the NHL season. There are a lot of the usual suspects in here, from the top line of the Colorado Avalanche, the ridiculous depth of the Tampa Bay Lightning, to the unstoppable force that is the Alex Ovechkin and Nicklas Backstrom duo. 1. Colorado’s top line. There should be no debate as to which team boasts the NHL’s best line and it is the trio of Nathan MacKinnon, Mikko Rantanen, and Gabriel Landeskog.

Panthers open road trip vs. Sabres
The Florida Panthers were not home for long, but they hope the stopover was good enough to point themselves in the right direction when they open a four-trip Tuesday night against the surging Buffalo Sabres. After losing twice in a row on the road, the Panthers (12-13-6) returned home to defeat the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-3 in overtime Saturday night. Aleksander Barkov, who scored his first NHL hat trick Saturday in the winning goal, warned that the Panthers have not always followed up on good efforts.

Internal competition is making it difficult for Andre Burakovsky to get back into the lineup
Internal competition is making it difficult for Andre Burakovsky to get back into the lineup originally appeared on nbcsportswashington.com Saturday's game against the Buffalo Sabres seemed like a good opportunity to get forward Andre Burakovsky back into a game. The Capitals played Friday against the Carolina Hurricanes making Saturday's game the second leg of a back-to-back. The physical strain those back-to-backs can put on a team often prompts coaches to make changes to the lineup in order to inject a little energy back into the lineup.
