| Brodeur blanks Rangers, Devils' run at 5 (AP) |
Martin Brodeur and the New Jersey Devils thought the officials got it just right when they waved off the potential tying goal in the closing seconds. Not surprisingly, the New York Rangers had an opposite opinion as they had trouble digesting a frustrating 1-0 loss on Tuesday night. Brodeur was at his Hall of Fame best against his and the Devils' fiercest rival and he made half of his 30 saves... |

| Nabokov stops 45, Isles top Flyers in SO (AP) |
Evgeni Nabokov faced a barrage of shots from all angles, stopping everything that came at him. Nabokov made 45 saves and Frans Nielsen and John Tavares scored on Ilya Bryzgalov in a shootout, helping the New York Islanders beat the Philadelphia Flyers 1-0 on Tuesday night. Nabokov was sensational, turning aside every shot he faced -- including two in the shootout. |

| Elliott, Blues extend Sens' skid to 7 (AP) |
Brian Elliott didn't have the success he would have liked with the Ottawa Senators. On Tuesday, he was almost perfect against them. David Perron scored twice and Elliott made 28 saves in his regular-season return to Ottawa and the St. Louis Blues handed the Senators their seventh straight loss, 3-1. |

| Caps' Vokoun stops 42, blanks Panthers (AP) |
Playing with a sense of urgency usually attached to a playoff game, the Washington Capitals needed only 13 seconds to take the lead in their first-place showdown with the Florida Panthers. Thanks to a strong goaltending performance by Tomas Vokoun, that was all the offense Washington needed in a 4-0 victory Tuesday night. |

| 'Hawks road skid hits 8 in loss to Avs (AP) |
With a flick of the wrist, Gabriel Landeskog helped snap Colorado's season-long five-game skid while extending Chicago's misery on the road. The rookie forward broke a tie 38 seconds into the third period and David Jones added two goals, lifting the Avalanche to a 5-2 win over the struggling Blackhawks on Tuesday night. |

| Edler gets Canucks past Predators in SO (AP) |
The Vancouver Canucks keep finding ways to win no matter how long it takes. Alex Edler scored in the sixth round of a shootout, and the Vancouver Canucks beat the Nashville Predators 4-3 Tuesday night for their fifth win in six games. The Canucks improved to 2-1 in the season series against the team they ousted in the Western Conference semifinals last season where they won all three games in... |

| Vrbata's 25th helps Coyotes down Stars (AP) |
The Phoenix Coyotes' playoff push is well under way. Radim Vrbata scored his 25th goal, former Dallas backup Mike Smith made 28 saves and the Coyotes improved their playoff positioning with a 4-1 victory over the Stars on Tuesday night. Vrbata gave Phoenix a 2-1 lead at 14:30 of the second period when he tapped Rostislav Klesla's centering pass by goalie Kari Lehtonen. |

| Nolan, out of NHL since 2009-10, retires (AP) |
Owen Nolan, who hasn't played in the NHL since the 2009-10 season, announced his retirement Tuesday at the San Jose Sharks' home rink. "I guess I've known this day was here for a while," said Nolan, a five-time all-star and Olympic gold medalist with Canada. "It's tough to give it up when your heart and mind wants to keep doing it. |

| Clifford, Penner lead Kings over Tampa (AP) |
The Los Angeles Kings are nearly unbeatable when scoring at least three goals. Too bad for them it's happened only 16 times this season. Kyle Clifford and Dustin Penner had second-period goals to lead Los Angeles past the Tampa Bay Lightning 3-1 on Tuesday night. Anze Kopitar also scored for the Kings, who are 15-0-1 when scoring three goals or more. |

| Plekanec lifts Canadiens by Pens in SO (AP) |
Even though it took a while, Carey Price and the Montreal Canadiens finally got a shootout to go their way. Tomas Plekanec scored on Montreal's eighth shootout attempt and Price stopped six of eight in the tiebreaker to lead the Canadiens to a 3-2 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday night. |
